It is with great pleasure that we are able to invite you to Druskininkai, Lithuania, for the sixth biennial Conference of the Nordic Baltic Organization for Professionals Working with Children and Adolescents (NBO). Our theme for this conference is ‘CHILD IN CONTEXT – FAMILY HELPING SYSTEM AND SOCIETY’.

NBO will celebrate 10 year Anniversary of NBO’s conferences. Following the foundation event in Norway in 2001, we have had five successful conferences in Parnu, Estonia (2002), Jurmala, Latvia (2004), Druskininkai, Lithuania (2006), Laulasmaa, Estonia (2008), and Jurmala, Latvia (2010).

The 6th Conference of NBO will be held in Druskininkai, Lithuania. Lithuania, the largest and southernmost of Baltic States, is often referred to as the “Land of Amber”. Lithuania, the land of golden dunes, Baroque church spires, special national cuisine, amber beads, joyful folk songs and warm-hearted people welcome you! Druskininkai is the largest and one of the most exciting resorts in Lithuania. It is famous for its natural surroundings, undoubtedly effective treatment facilities, and museums. Its highly developed servicing, friendly local inhabitants and healthy environment attract everyone who visits this resort.

NBO organizes these biennial conferences with the aim to offer professionals working with children and adolescents (social workers, teachers, special pedagogues, therapists, mental health workers and others) the opportunity to present their work, to exchange information, to network, and to promote international collaboration.
